Cougar Camp

Cougar Camp is open to all CPL families whose children are enrolled in Kindergarten to Eighth Grade.

Camp is centered at Canoga Park Lutheran, with grassy field, air-conditioned gym and classrooms. Even with this, to be a camp, there has to be field trips - well Cougar Camp has seven of them!

So when is? Well, Camp is held Monday through Friday, June 11 to August 19th. Camp is closed on Monday, July 5th, in observance of the July 4th holiday. Camp opens at 7:30 AM and closes for the day at 6:00 PM.

What to bring, what to bring! Decisions, decisions....Campers should bring a morning snack, and a sack lunch with a drink every day. Afternoon snacks and drinks are provided to all campers. Remember to check the weekly newsletter for the most up-to-date hot lunch info for the upcoming week! Kindergartners will have a rest time on campus days, and they can bring a small blanket and pillow if they would like to. Older campers (grades 2 though 8) are welcome to bring a book to read for a bit of respite during the day. Just remember - label all the items the campers bring along, with their name in an indelible marker.

Swimming! Campers age 7 and older will go swimming on most Mondays and Fridays. They will have the opportunity to swim from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. All our younger campers will remain on campus and play in wading pool.

What to wear? Easy. Comfortable summer clothing is appropriate. On swim days boys should bring along a pair of swim trunks. The girls can wear a one piece on swim days. Everyone is requested to bring their own towel on swim days. All campers must wear tennis shoes, no sandals, thongs, or flip-flops. Cougar Camp t-shirts are included with the registration fee and are required apparel on Wednesday field trips.

Registration: All campers (either full or part timers) must fill out the registration form and submit it with the completed fee. The fees cover insurance, t-shirts, afternoon snacks & drinks, bus costs, swimming, and field trip entrance fees. FYI - an additional $17.00 is due for the Disneyland trip. Please read through the calendar of events so you don't miss anything. Registered campers may come any day of the week, but be aware of when the bus may leave for field trips so you don't miss out!

Fees: Registration: $150.00 per child. Weekly rates (due at the beginning of each week [Wed - Tues]. $135.00 for the 1st child. $110.00 for each additional child. Daily rates: $30.00 per child due at the beginning of each day. $25.00 for each additional child.

Cougar news, the Cougar Camp newsletter. Every Friday the campers are given a newsletter with all the upcoming info on the next weeks theme and activities. Themes include, Welcome to Camp, Animal Antics, Surf's Up, Patriotic Parade, All Aboard, Join the Circus, Under the Sea, Happiest Place on Earth, Pirate Adventure, and the Clean Up Crusade.
